It’s day one!! We couldn’t feel more motivated today to wake up and start juicing for the first time! It was a great and rewarding experience and we loved juicing together this morning! Brian prepared the fruits and veggies, along with ginger root and turmeric and I put everything into the juicer! It’s amazing to watch how much juice is coming out and it smells so good too(especially cucumber)! I think we were both so amazed at the fact that we are actually eating all of those fruits & vegetables in one glass! 🙂 It honestly feels good knowing that what we are putting into our bodies is beneficial!
For breakfast we had a recipe we found on “Reboot with Joe” (his website). It’s called Dad’s Day OJ. We were both immediately drawn to this because of the oranges! There are not only oranges in this recipe but there is pineapple, ginger root, romaine lettuce, lime, and ground turmeric for that extra little spice! I have to say, it was quite delicious!
Lunch- I made “Joe’s Mean Green” juice to bring with me to work for lunch in a glass container- it worked out wonderfully. I was hoping it stayed fresh from 7 AM to 12PM and it did! All I did was shook it up real good and poured it over some ice! Yum! It was pretty good and I think the taste will eventually grow on me. This juice had apples, a cucumber, celery, lemon (chose to peel it- because I heard that the taste can be quite bitter?) and kale. I have to leave the house at 7 and cannot bring a juicer with me to work! I would look a little funny in the break room! Before this juice fast- I already got made fun of for bringing a mini crock pot, I don’t need to bring a juicer into the mix! Haha!
Throughout the day we drank herbal tea (no sugar added) and lots of water to stay full and hydrated!
Well, we are home now. Feeling pretty good, but a little hungry. Staying hydrated is a must! I was reading that your water intake is crucial to avoid constipation or diarrhea. So, we’ve been drinking like crazy!
Dinner…. we’re juicing up some carrots, apples and a piece of ginger. I hope that it’s good- we will definitely let you guys know!
Thanks for following us and keeping us motivated! Comment below for any advice that you have for us, or for any questions 😉
Well, tonight I spent most of my time on youtube looking at how to actually “juice” 🙂 Can I juice the entire fruit, seeds and all? What can I juice? What can I not juice? What fruits or veggies produce more juice than others? It is definitely a learning experience! I must say, I am quite excited and bought a juicer on Friday. I bought a Jack LaLane and I cannot wait to get it out of the box! As I was watching the youtube videos that many others have posted they have all been inspired by Joe Cross- Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead. Like I stated in another post, this is definitely a must watch and if you’re not feeling motivated- watch it tonight!
We are so ready to get this weight off of us! I want to feel more energetic & the thing I am looking forward to the most is being able to walk up to the mirror and feel good about myself and what I am wearing. I don’t even bother looking at myself in the mirror when I get out of the shower because I am so ashamed! I hate that and want to change this immediately! It gives me a bitter feeling throughout my body that I am so young and my confidence is down the drain. I will be posting pictures throughout our progress, so please watch for them and keep us going! Also, if you’re doing a juice fast or just juicing in general, let us know- it’s fun to keep in touch and to give hints to one another on our new journey!
We also bought a digital scale and a glass container with a lid that we can bring to work. Juicing while working will be a bit of a challenge (juice isn’t as fresh after a couple of hours). I learned that putting a lemon or a citrus fruit in the juice will keep the taste much fresher! Our plan is to juice in the morning twice. Once for breakfast to bring with us in the car and another for lunch to fill into the glass container. Note: Glass, not plastic! Plastic smells, discolors, and your juice can end up having that “plastic taste”. Glass is the way to go!
Juice on! 🙂
Hey there! Name’s Kristin & Brian! Welcome to our blog! This is where we talk about our soon to be journey of our juicing fast and then on to balancing our healthy lifestyle afterwards! We’re so glad that you dropped by & we hope that you stick around or check in periodically to see our progress, recipes and new eating habits!
We have decided to keep a blog on our new so called “life of juicing” & we feel so motivated and inspired to do this- we want to keep a day to day or week to week progress of it!
How did we get so motivated? Well, this is how it all started —> Brian was flipping through some Netflix movies trying to figure out what would be good to watch when he came across Fat Sick & Nearly Dead (a Joe Cross film). Sounded interesting, so unreluctantly- we gave it a shot! During the entire movie, I was so intrigued! It is a documentary that chronicles Joe’s personal mission to regain his health. It is definitely a must watch and life changing! Joe(an Australian entrepreneur & investor) turns to the only option left, the body’s ability to heal itself! As Joe states in the documentary- “If your body can heal itself on the outside, it must be able to heal itself on the inside.” The documentary is available to watch on Hulu, Netflix, & even amazon! http://shop.rebootwithjoe.com/products/fat-sick-nearly-dead-dvd It’s definitely worth the watch- so check it out!
We felt this was an answer to getting back on track with our lives! Whether that be- staying more alert at work, clearer skin, weight loss, feeling more motivated & less tired, feeling more driven and having more energy… whatever your desire is! Juicing is phenomenal and has so many benefits! Have you ever thought about juicing? (comment below with your thoughts) Try it for yourself with us!
